What will I receive as a part of The Greene Turtle franchise system?
You will receive site selection, and restaurant design assistance, initial management and customer service training, access to The Greene Turtle proprietary operational programs and advertising materials and periodic assistance and training in operations, management and marketing.
How much does a franchise cost?
The total estimated initial investment ranges from $850,000 to $1,500,000, depending on the required rent and property improvements and the actual cost of the liquor license, the insurance, signage, equipment, initial inventory and the amount of the working capital required. This estimate includes the initial franchise fee of $45,000 plus the cost of Grand Opening advertising.
Is financing available?
The Greene Turtle does not offer direct or indirect financing or guarantee loans, notes or obligations. We will, however, attempt to negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers in the system.
How much is the "royalty" fee?
This franchise fee is 4% of your gross weekly revenue. It entitles you to continued use of The Greene Turtle trademarks, as well as the continuing operational and marketing assistance we provide to all franchisees.
What about advertising and promotion?
Advertising and promotion to attract customers and build loyalty to your restaurant is essential. We require an investment in Grand Opening advertising between $5,000 and $10,000; and to ensure adequate continuing promotion, you must spend at least 2% of your gross sales on local advertising. In addition, customer discount and incentive programs must be offered to your customers equal to a minimum of 2% of annual gross sales. And each franchisee is required to contribute up to 1 1/2% of weekly gross sales to help support a system-wide advertising program, which may include a cooperative advertising plan for franchisees.
What training will I receive?
Prior to opening the restaurant, the franchisee operating partner, one full-time general manager, an assistant manager and a kitchen manager will receive a total of approximately eight weeks of training by our staff. During the opening, we will provide a minimum of ten days on-site assistance. After that, your key operating staff will be required to attend refresher courses, seminars and other training programs from time to time.
How long is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of The Greene Turtle franchise is 10 years. The right to operate the restaurant can be renewed for two additional 5 year terms.
Will I have a territory?
You will be granted a territory within which we will not open or operate or franchise anyone else to open or operate a The Greene Turtle restaurant. This territory will be based on the number of people living or working within a defined geographical area; currently, these are areas of population between 35,000 and 50,000.
